Where I’ve Been

So far, these are the countries and territories where I have set my footprints (30 countries):

Note: The list of countries will also include some non-sovereign regions which, at some level, can be considered as different entity from their sovereign states. For example: Hong Kong and Macau which have their own immigration system (separate from China), New Caledonia (part of France), Gibraltar (part of UK), etc.

      I didn’t how to make it at first. I just clicked on the map on someone’s blog which was later redirected to a Google map page. Then I clicked on ‘my places’ tab and started adding places. Oh by the way I think you need to have a Google account first. You can start by clicking on mine. 🙂

    Just found your blog and I’ve started reading. I’ve just moved from UK to Aus for a year and ever since doing so I’ve loved reading about other travels, even as much as blogging my own. I’ve still got many more of your posts and great photography to look at, but so far I’m very impressed. Cheers for sharing.

      Hi Andrea! Yes, I know. A bit of an irony, isn’t it? But back then we needed separate visa to visit Switzerland (before it joined the Schengen Zone). But actually Switzerland is one of the countries I wish to visit when I go back to Europe. I hope it will be sooner than later.

    I’ve been travelling around India for years and this place never fails to amaze me…
    I got so obsessed with India, that I decided to cover as much of India possible, before heading out to other countries.

      I’ve seen pictures of Gangtok and the houses reminded me of those in Bhutan. It’s going to be very interesting to visit this part of India. Maybe one day I will. 🙂 Thanks!

      Oh I loved it! In fact of all countries that I went to during my Eurotrip back in 2007 I liked Germany the most. The people were really nice and helpful, the cities were great, and everything was so well-organized. I would definitely go back one day!

Love your blog 🙂 I am really keen to visit Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra Indonesia but all my family are saying it’s not safe for a young, single lass to do so…I have also heard that recently a Briton did go missing in the Sumatra area. Despite this, I am still keen to go as I’d like to get lost in the jungle (not literally hah) and go hunting for the illusive ginger monkeys….just wondered what your thoughts were?? Thanks Bama 😉 Helen

      Hi Helen! Thank you so much! 🙂 I myself haven’t been to Bukit Lawang. But I’ve read great stories from people who have been there, including a young Aussie woman who went there on her first ever solo trip abroad. About that Briton who went missing, I’m not sure if I was aware of that before. But what I do remember is there was this young Briton who died because of excessive alcohol consumption (imagine absinthe, but more powerful than that!). So I guess common sense is always the best thing we all need to keep in mind while traveling. I wish you a very nice adventure in Bukit Lawang one day! 🙂

    I don’t know about you but I find the more places I go the longer my list of places I need to visit gets!! I either meet people with great stories or don’t quite see enough of a place and need to come back! It’s never ending!! Love the idea of your resolution good on ya!

      You need to have a google account first, then copy the HTML code from google map and paste it to the desired page on your blog. Make sure you switch from the view to HTML first.

      Hi Hania. Since I learned about Lebanon’s ancient sites many years ago I instantly fell in love with the country. The fact that it’s an Arab country but with a very strong Mediterranean atmosphere and also a large number of Christian population makes Lebanon even more fascinating. Thanks for your recommendation!

      Hi Elly-Grace. I will visit Australia one day, given its proximity to Indonesia. Sydney, Melbourne, the Blue Mountains, Kakadu, Uluru and Perth are some of the places in the country that I would like to visit the most.

      Hi James. Well, you’re planning your own big trip, aren’t you? Asia is not that far away, and if you do go to this part of the world I recommend you to visit Southeast Asia as it is one of the easiest places on Earth to travel to.

      About the map, the idea was not mine to begin with. I was also inspired by other bloggers. 🙂

        Yep, got quite a few places already on the list. Mainly English speaking countries but just a nice trip to break us into backpacking. (Hong Kong > Oz > NZ > Fiji > USA). Will definately travel Asia at some point, main problem is finding the money….:)

        Hey, when you fly from Hong Kong to Australia you’ll fly over Indonesia. Why not make a visit? 🙂 At least you can go to Java and Bali and continue your journey to Oz from there.

    Only issue we have got is all of our main flights are already booked and paid for, does make any little stop overs like that quite restrictive. My plan after doing our first route round is to buy an open ended ticket through Asia and see where I end up, providing money is ok 🙂

        Actually I was planning to visit Mozambique sometime next year, but I had to scrap that plan for some reasons. However it still is on my list of countries to visit when I go to Africa in the future. Thanks for your recommendation!

    Hello Bama! I simply love your blog, and the pictures are amazing! However, according to your map, you still have not visited Nouakchott the capital of Mauritania (which you said was one of your favorites), and nothing on the African continent. Are you planning on visiting the African continent anytime soon? I have written on my blog about some of the African capitals, and where they got their names from (check it out, it might inspire you to visit some of them).

      Hi Dr. Y! Nouakchott was one of those cities which piqued my curiosity about faraway places. But as you can see, I haven’t been to anywhere in Africa although I really want to. Two years ago I started this plan to visit Africa on a long-term travel along with other places, but I had to scrap the continent altogether due to financial reasons. However it remains on my wishlist. I just took a glimpse at your blog and it’s really interesting to find an African-themed blog as most articles out there are mainly on the usual touristy places. Will surely be back to your blog! And thank you for your kind words.
