When people hear the word Bali, I am pretty sure that they will most likely think of the beach. Well, indeed Bali has lots of kinds of beaches. You want a beach with white sand stretching impossibly long? Got it. Or you want a more idyllic beach with turquoise water? Checked. Or simply a secluded beach, far enough from any crowd? Don’t worry! Or a beach which is hidden from the rest of the island by a massive cliff? Yes, yes, yes..Bali has them all!
During my recent trip to Bali, I visited only a few of Bali’s beautiful beaches. However, I did go to different types of beaches in order to feel different sensation. First I went to Kuta, undoubtedly the most well-known beach in Bali. Stretching hundreds or probably thousands of meters long, Kuta offers the most lively entertainment and accommodation in Bali. World hotel chains, restaurants, lounges, clubs, stores and malls are located side by side along the Kuta and Legian shoreline.
The next day I went to a more secluded beach: Padang Padang (yes, it has its name repeated) which sits in the southern part of Bali near Pecatu region, only 20 minutes away from the majestic Uluwatu temple (more about this place in other post). To get to the beach you have to take the stairs which go down through a small cave-like opening which eventually ends to the beach itself. Compared to Kuta, this place is considerably less crowded. Soak yourself in the turquoise water and enjoy the calmness of this place.
On my last day, I went to the most spectacular beach I’ve ever been to. A beach which is hidden behind a massive cliff and with a dream-like environment. But, that needs a dedicated post for the story and pictures. Stay tuned!
